We rule out 90% of them for the following reasons: not enough experience; a poor or average personality screen result; references that are average, false or unreachable; an inability to make a solid commitment for at least one year; lack of longevity in previous nanny positions, lack of solid infant experience; they’re under 22 years old; they have only babysitting experience, they have a poor driving record, we are unimpressed with them in an interview; they have poor follow-through, etc.

Our Proven Nanny Screening Process
Finding a good nanny is extremely time consuming. Fortunately, we have the high tech tools that make our search for the really great nannies efficient. First we look at their personality screen results and online interview. We’ve used our personality screen to find the best people for 14 years. I’m a licensed psychologist and we know what we’re looking for. Next, we call all references. We talk to references all day long and know what a good reference sounds like, versus a polite reference or one where the family is being careful not to say anything negative, even if they were not extremely happy with her. If she passes both of the previous steps, then we interview her in person for 90 minutes using our standardized interview questions so we can rate her interview results relative to other candidates. In addition to learning all about her history and personality traits, we also ask each candidate the same series of situational questions that reveal her judgment, problem solving skills, ability to handle pressure, experience, creativity, energy level, initiative, respect for authority, genuine interest in and love of children, communication skills, conscientiousness, attention to detail, knowledge of safety issues and developmental stages, etc.
Quality Nanny Background Checks
We run high quality court record checks. These are the most high quality type of background checks. We do not run an instant Internet background check. These are inexpensive and not reliable.
Our Nanny Replacement Policy
We also provide a one year replacement policy for full time placements. Our families don’t want a revolving door, and neither do we. It’s bad for your child and it’s bad for our business.
